This is a course developed for vocational college educators in Kenya to learn more about Competency-Based Educational Training (CBET). As part of the College’s obligation to the TVET-17 Partnership Program.
CBET is an approach to vocational education and training in which skills, knowledge and attitudes are specified in order to define, steer and help to achieve competence standards, mostly within a national qualification’s framework. (Source: Deißinger & Hellwig 2011).
The International
Projects and Mobility Team (NorQuest International) currently leads, in
collaboration with Fanshawe College and Northern Lights College, the Young
Africa Works-TVET-17 Partnership Project (2022-RV-21401). This 4-year
initiative will support two Kenyan institutions to roll out twelve different
programs in Culinary Arts, Agriculture and Food Processing Technology (Friends
College Kaimosi and the Sang'alo Institute of Science and Technology).
